In June 2024, Keith Brown, tech enthusiast and software developer, joined Moore Engineering Services. Starting with a degree in Computer Science, Brown honed his skills over the years to work with web technologies, hardware design technologies, 3D printing, Galvo laser design, architecture, and robotics to serve in back-end development and project leadership roles. Brown’s innovation is a great fit for Moore Engineering Services, and we are excited for his development in a new endeavor: Sidewalk Safety Division.
Moore Engineering Services has been hard at work developing the Sidewalk Safety Division, a new branch of the company to collect data on hazardous public sidewalks in various states of disrepair to report and facilitate repairs. But this division couldn’t be created without a creative, problem-solving mind like Brown.
Throughout his career, Brown worked on a variety of exciting projects, one being Hummingbird, an interconnected system designed to enhance communication and data transfer between devices using Bluetooth Low Energy technology to improve device interoperability and user experience. Additionally, at Rothman Orthopedics, Brown led back-end development for internal and mobile solutions, focusing on third-party integrations, API development, and database migrations to manage patient data and relativeness in real time.
Brown’s expertise isn’t just that of software development, but also prototyping and mechanical design. Through rapidly prototyping new features and applications, his hands-on experience has enabled him to seamlessly integrate software and hardware components to create efficient, user-friendly solutions. You may ask: Why the instant problem solver? Brown admits previous employers have dubbed this name. At first we were skeptical, but in the past few months at Moore he’s certainly earned it here!
So what does this mean for Brown’s part to play in the development of Sidewalk Safety Division? Brown’s experience gives him the perfect opportunity to leverage tech to inspect and repair sidewalks. Data collection and analysis are at the core of his work, and his prototyping skills are proving extremely beneficial in designing equipment to assess sidewalks for irregularities or damage which is then transmitted in real time. Moore Engineering is excited about the future of the Sidewalk Safety Division helmed via Brown’s expertise to ensure that sidewalks are safe and accessible.
